Airfryer Okra Fries

I decided to purchase a new airfryer! This is a quick and delicious recipe using an airfryer to make okra fries. The okra are not as crispy as they get when I grill them but the ends and seeds are crispy. They are more like roasted than crisp fried. Could go a few more minutes if looking for extra crispy. […]

Kick up Flavor with Infused Oils #whole30

Infused oil is such a great flavor booster for sautéing anything (especially fish) and I almost always use it when I roast or grill vegetables with sea salt. We like things a little spicy and this oil packs flavor with minimal effort. I get mine at HEB and I noticed there is a way to purchase it online through their website.  […]

Avocado & Eggs #whole30 breakfast

I have made a commitment to myself to do the Whole30 program.  It’s basically eating whole foods like meats, fruits and vegetables while avoiding all grains, dairy and additives like sugar.  I have read the book, signed up for their newsletter and am now going to try and blog my way through this program. First, I’m really glad my local HEB […]

Cereal: Made with Beans

We discovered this cereal and it’s delicious. It’s gluten free because it’s made from lentil, navy and garbanzo beans. It’s sweet without being too sweet and my kids love it. I found it at Whole Foods Market but its also available on Amazon.

Sausage Links: Healthy School Lunches

I slice them up and pan fry them until they are a little crisp on both sides.  This would work with whatever type of summer sausage you have on hand or even hot dogs.   This […]

Smoothie Pops: Healthy School Lunches

When I make smoothies in the morning I usually have leftover and  I pour it in these Kinderville Ice Pop molds.  I love to send these to school as a snack because they are so healthy and my kids LOVE them.  They stay frozen a long time because they are kind of thick.  They are silicone so the frozen smoothie pops up […]

This was my grandmother’s recipe but I changed it a little and turned it grain free.  These bentzes are tasty sweet or savory and are super easy and healthy!  They are kind of like a pancake but with a creamy flavor.  They are moist with an amazing texture.  You’ve got to try this recipe.  My grandmother said these were a favorite […]
