Infused oil is such a great flavor booster for sautéing anything (especially fish) and I almost always use it when I roast or grill vegetables with sea salt. We like things a little spicy and this oil packs flavor with minimal effort. I get mine at HEB and I noticed there is a way to purchase it online through their website. This is a time saver I love to keep on hand for when I need a quick side dish.
It’s pretty easy to make your own infused oil and requires minimal supervision.
To make your own chili garlic infused olive oil:
- Put good quality olive oil in a pan on very low heat
- Add chopped garlic
- Add red pepper flakes
- Keep it on low and let it go until it’s fragrant
- Let the oil cool completely
- Strain and store
